About Sunny Locksmith

Sunny Locksmith is a locksmith shop at 130 7th Ave S in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. We are licensed and insured, and we run our own dispatch rather than passing jobs through a national call center. Recent jobs with dates, cross streets and photos are on our work page. Call or text (917) 495-1990, day or night.

What We Do

Emergency lockouts — house, car, business — get priority dispatch 24/7. Residential work covers lock changes, rekeys, deadbolts, mortise locks, smart keypads, and mailbox cylinders. Commercial work covers storefront Adams Rite hardware, panic bars, closers, maglocks, master key systems, and Grade 1 leversets. Automotive work covers lockouts, transponder keys, fobs, smart keys, and ignition repair at the car. Tell us what you are dealing with and we send someone set up for that job.

Recent Work

In July: a vertical panic bar repair near W 52nd St & 10th Ave in Hell's Kitchen and a commercial leverset repair near E 116th St & 5th Ave in East Harlem. In June: a deadbolt supplied and installed near Eastern Pkwy & Utica Ave in Crown Heights, an electric strike near Times Square, and an Adams Rite handle and lock replacement near 116th St & Broadway. In May: a car key cut and programmed near Wyckoff Ave & Myrtle Ave in Bushwick, with no tow. In April: a lockout and lock change near Delancey St & Essex St on the Lower East Side, an emergency lockout and lock change near Broadway & Prince St in SoHo, a Mul-T-Lock installation, and a mailbox lock near 181st St & St Nicholas Ave in Washington Heights. Every entry on our work page has a date and location.

How We Work

When you call or text (917) 495-1990, we ask where you are and what door, lock or car you are dealing with, then tell you what the job involves and quote it before any work starts. We confirm you belong at the address before opening anything. And we tell you when a rekey is enough and a lock change would be an upsell.

The Shop on 7th Ave S

130 7th Ave S, New York, NY 10014 is our base: dispatch, key coding and shop work happen here. Most jobs are done on site, at your street, garage or storefront. If you would rather come to the shop, call ahead first.

Licensed and Insured

New York City requires locksmiths to be licensed by the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP). Sunny Locksmith is an NYC-licensed locksmith, license #2096389-DCA; the number is on our vans and on this site. We are also insured. We photograph finished work for our public gallery, because a claim without a date and a location is not worth much.

Why On-Site Service Matters in NYC

Parking is hard, tows are expensive, and few people have time to wait at a shop while a key is coded. So most of our work happens where the problem is: keys cut and programmed at the car, lock and panic bar work at the door. The shop at 130 7th Ave S handles dispatch and coding, and most customers never need to come in.

Service Areas

We take service calls across all five boroughs — Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island — plus nearby Nassau County and Westchester. The Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens pages describe the work we see most in each, and our service areas page lists the neighborhoods with their own pages. Start at our services overview if you are not sure which service you need.
